Convert Indian bank statements to Excel or CSV
Indian banks usually email statements as password-protected PDFs, unlocked with a mix of your name, date of birth, customer ID or mobile number. How Indian bank statements work
Indian banks offer statements in two ways. Netbanking usually lets you download a date range as PDF or Excel. Monthly e-statements and statements requested by email arrive as password-protected PDFs.
The password is usually built from personal details. Common patterns:

Banks change these rules, so check the email that came with the statement first.
Software used in India
Tally (TallyPrime) is the most common, followed by Zoho Books and Busy. Chartered accountants often receive client statements as locked PDFs and need them in Excel for vouchers, bank reconciliation or GST matching. BankConv does not create Tally files. Download Excel, then use TallyPrime’s bank statement import or an Excel-to-Tally utility. Zoho Books accepts a CSV through Import Statement.
What to check when converting
Indian statements are day first and use lakh grouping.

After converting, check the totals yourself: opening balance + credits − debits should equal the closing balance.

What is the password for my bank statement PDF?
It depends on the bank. It is usually built from your name, date of birth, customer ID or registered mobile number, and the email that came with the statement states the format. See the HDFC, ICICI, SBI and Axis pages for each bank's usual format.
Can BankConv convert a bank statement to Tally XML?
No. BankConv exports Excel, CSV and Google Sheets. You can bring that file into TallyPrime with its bank statement import or an Excel-to-Tally utility.
Does BankConv store my PDF password?
No. The password is used once to open the file and never stored. Files are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
