What to know about Navy Federal Credit Union PDFs

One statement covers several accounts
A Navy Federal statement usually lists your savings and checking accounts one after another, each with its own transaction table and balances. Check which account each row belongs to, and watch for transfers between your own accounts that appear twice.
Only 36 months online
Navy Federal keeps up to 36 months of statements in digital banking. For tax records or a mortgage application, save the PDFs while they are still there; older copies need a request to Navy Federal.
Withdrawals may print with a trailing minus
Withdrawal amounts often print with the minus sign after the number (45.00-). Check that every withdrawal comes through as a negative amount before you total anything.

Navy Federal statements are usually text-based PDFs, so the transaction rows tend to come through intact. The main things to watch are the multi-account layout and the 36-month window.

How to get Navy Federal transactions as CSV

Navy Federal’s transaction download gives you a CSV for recent activity. For full statement months, convert the PDFs.

  1. Recent activity: in digital banking, open the account and use the Download option next to Transaction History. Choose CSV.
  2. Statement months: save each PDF from Statements, upload them to BankConv (up to 10 at a time), and export CSV or Excel.

Lenders usually want the statements themselves, which show the opening and closing balance for each account.

What to check after converting

Check each account section on its own.

  • Balances: the last balance for each account should match the ending balance on the PDF.
  • Signs: confirm every withdrawal is negative.
  • Accounts: confirm rows sit under the right account before you combine anything.

If your software needs OFX, download OFX from BankConv instead of CSV. For QuickBooks, see importing into QuickBooks. More banks are in the US bank guides.

Navy Federal Credit Union statement questions

Can I still download Navy Federal transactions for Quicken?

Navy Federal has said transaction downloads are now CSV and PDF only. Use the CSV for recent activity. For OFX or QFX, which Navy Federal no longer offers, convert the PDF statements in BankConv and download OFX or QFX.

How far back can I get Navy Federal statements?

Up to 36 months in digital banking. For older statements, contact Navy Federal.

Why do some transactions appear twice?

One statement covers several accounts, so a transfer from checking to savings shows as a withdrawal in one and a deposit in the other. Remove one side if you combine accounts.

Does BankConv need my Navy Federal login?

No. You save the PDF yourself and upload it. BankConv never connects to your account and never asks for your banking password.
