Convert Charles Schwab Bank statements to Excel or CSV

Schwab's help pages for Investor Checking don't describe a transaction file download, but electronic statements stay online for up to 10 years. Save the PDF from the Statements area on Schwab.com or the Schwab Mobile app and BankConv will turn it into Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. Look out for the monthly ATM fee rebate credit and transfers to the linked brokerage account.

The PDF statement is the documented record. Schwab says electronic documents stay online for up to 10 years from the date they were first delivered.

What to know about Charles Schwab Bank PDFs

ATM fee rebates arrive as one credit
Schwab Bank says ATM fee rebates appear as a lump-sum credit on the statement that includes the ATM fees for that cycle. You won't find one rebate line per withdrawal, so match the single credit against the total of that month's ATM fees.
Transfers to and from the linked brokerage account
Investor Checking is always linked to a Schwab One brokerage account, which has its own statement. Money moved between the two usually shows up on both, so if you combine the checking and brokerage exports, remove one side of each transfer.
Paper statements may be quarterly
Schwab says paperless clients get a statement every month, while paper statements come quarterly or when there's activity. If a month seems missing from your downloads, check whether the account was on paper delivery at the time.

A Schwab Bank statement saved from Schwab.com is usually a short, text-based PDF. The things to watch are the monthly ATM rebate credit and transfers to the linked brokerage account.

How to get Charles Schwab Bank transactions as CSV

Schwab documents the PDF statement, not a transaction download, as the way to get past months of Investor Checking activity.

  1. Find the statements: on Schwab.com go to Accounts, then Statements; in Schwab Mobile tap Profile, then Statements, and pick the Investor Checking account.
  2. Convert: save each monthly PDF, upload them to BankConv (up to 10 at a time), and export CSV or Excel.

Statements also carry the opening and closing balance, which a lender or accountant will want to see alongside the rows.

What to check after converting

Use the balances on the statement to confirm nothing is missing.

  • Balance check: opening balance plus the sum of all amounts should equal the closing balance.
  • ATM rebate: total the month’s ATM fees and compare with the rebate credit.
  • Transfers: if you also convert the Schwab One brokerage statement, make sure each transfer is counted once.
