Do you need to convert at all?
U.S. Bank online banking lets you download account transactions as a spreadsheet (CSV), a Quicken file (QFX) or a QuickBooks file (QBO).
Up to 18 months of transactions, and only in online banking on a computer, not the U.S. Bank Mobile App. Older periods exist only as PDF statements.

What to know about U.S. Bank PDFs
- Transactions grouped by type, no running balance
- Checking statements usually list activity in sections such as deposits, card withdrawals, other withdrawals and checks, then give a separate balance summary with one ending balance per day. Rows come out grouped the same way, so sort by date if you need one chronological list.
- Withdrawals print with a trailing minus
- Withdrawal amounts often print with the minus sign after the number (58.32-). Check that every withdrawal comes through as a negative amount before you total anything.
- Dates show month and day only
- Transaction dates usually print as a short month and day, such as Sep 3. The year comes from the statement period, so check rows on a December–January statement.
U.S. Bank gives you two ways to get transactions into a spreadsheet. Which one you need depends on how far back you go.
How to get U.S. Bank transactions as CSV
For the last 18 months, use U.S. Bank’s own download. For anything older, convert the PDF statements.
- Last 18 months: in online banking on a computer, open the account, select the download icon in the Transactions area, pick a date range and choose CSV, QFX or QBO.
- Older months: download each PDF statement, upload them to BankConv (up to 10 at a time), check the rows, and export CSV or Excel.
Use the PDF route as well when a lender or accountant asks for statements. The statement shows the opening and closing balance, which the transaction download doesn’t.
What to check after converting
U.S. Bank statements carry enough totals to check the result yourself.
- Section totals: add up the deposit rows and the withdrawal rows, and compare each with the account summary on page one.
- Signs: confirm that every withdrawal is negative, especially where the PDF printed a trailing minus.
- Daily balances: pick two or three dates and confirm the running total matches the balance summary.
- Year: check rows near January 1.

Can I download U.S. Bank transactions in the mobile app?
No. U.S. Bank says transaction downloads work only in online banking, not the U.S. Bank Mobile App. PDF statements are available in both.
Why are my converted U.S. Bank transactions out of date order?
