Convert Capital One statements to Excel or CSV
For a Capital One 360 checking or savings account, the account page offers recent transactions only, so older months come from the short PDF statements. BankConv reads those PDFs into Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. Check that each amount kept its sign, and watch for the opening and closing balance lines inside the transaction table.

What to know about Capital One PDFs
- One amount column with a sign or label
- Capital One 360 statements usually show a single amount per transaction, marked as a debit or credit (by a sign or a category label) rather than in two columns. Check that withdrawals come out negative before you total them.
- Opening and closing balance lines in the table
- The transaction table often starts with an opening balance line and ends with a closing balance line. They aren't transactions, so leave them out of any totals.
- Interest shows up as its own line
- On savings and interest-bearing checking, the monthly interest credit is usually listed as a separate transaction near the end of the period. Keep it as its own row so interest income is easy to total for tax time.
Converting Capital One bank statements
Capital One 360 statements are short and usually text-based, which keeps conversion simple. The main checks are the sign of each amount and the balance lines.
- Download the monthly PDFs for your checking or savings account.
- Upload them to BankConv.
- Check the rows, then export Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.
A quick accuracy check
Use the balance column to prove the file is complete. Each row’s balance should equal the previous balance plus that row’s amount.
- In Excel, add a check column: previous balance + amount − balance. Every row should show 0.
- Confirm the last balance matches the closing balance on the PDF.
- Filter the description for interest to total interest income for the year.
For QuickBooks, see QuickBooks import. If your software needs OFX, download OFX from BankConv instead of CSV.
