Convert Macquarie Bank statements to Excel or CSV
Macquarie's transaction download only includes the rows loaded on screen, so a year's export can quietly stop part-way. The PDF statement, from the I want to menu in Online Banking, is the safer source for a full period and carries the opening and closing balances. BankConv converts it into Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.

Download your Macquarie statement
- 1.Log in to Macquarie Online Banking (macquarie.com.au) or the Macquarie app.
- 2.Select the account, then open the I want to menu.
- 3.Choose the option to view account statements, then pick the statement period.
- 4.Save the PDF, and repeat for each period.
Do you need to convert at all?
Macquarie Online Banking lets you download the transaction list from a computer, after filtering by date, amount, category or type, in a file format you pick. Business Banking usually offers CSV and QIF.
Only the transactions visible on screen are downloaded, and the app can't download at all. Statements go back 2 to 10 years online, depending on the account.

What to know about Macquarie Bank PDFs
- The download only takes what's on screen
- Macquarie says its transaction download only includes the transactions currently loaded on screen. Unless you scroll back to load older rows first, a year's export can quietly stop part-way. Check the first date in the file, or use the statement.
- Statement history varies by account
- Depending on the account, statements go back 2 to 10 years online, and some statements aren't online at all. Download what you need for a tax return before you assume it's there.
- The CSV lists transactions without balances
- Macquarie's CSV exports usually list transactions only, without the opening and closing balances. The PDF statement carries both, which you need to prove the export is complete.
How to get Macquarie statements into Excel
Macquarie offers a transaction download and PDF statements. For a complete period, the statement is the more reliable source.
- Quick look at recent activity: in Online Banking on a computer, open the account, filter by date and select the download icon. Scroll back first so every row you need is loaded.
- A full month or year: download the PDF statements from the I want to menu, upload them to BankConv and export Excel or CSV.
Use the statement as well when an accountant or lender asks for full statements. It carries the opening and closing balances.
What to check after converting
Macquarie statements are usually text-based PDFs. Even so, check these before you import:
- Opening and closing balance: leave the opening balance line out of your totals, then confirm the last balance matches the closing balance.
- Totals: compare total debits and credits with the statement summary.
- Dates: Australian dates are day first, so set your spreadsheet to DD/MM before you import, or 03/04 may become 4 March.

Macquarie Bank statement questions

How far back can I get Macquarie statements?
Macquarie says you can view statements from the past 2 to 10 years, depending on the account. For closed accounts or older periods, ask Macquarie through live chat.
Can I convert a full financial year of Macquarie statements?
Yes. Upload up to 10 statement PDFs in one batch and combine the rows.
