Convert Bendigo Bank statements to Excel or CSV

Bendigo Bank's e-banking download stops at 18 months, so older transactions only exist in the PDF statements, which stay online for up to seven years on open accounts. Grab them from each account's Statements tab and BankConv will turn them into Excel, CSV or Google Sheets. Closed accounts need copies from your branch, and scanned ones convert through OCR.

The download only covers the past 18 months. For older transactions, Bendigo points you to your PDF statements, kept in e-banking for up to seven years on open accounts.

What to know about Bendigo Bank PDFs

The 18-month cut-off
The e-banking download stops at 18 months, so a full financial year that started more than 18 months ago can't be exported as CSV or QIF. Those months only exist as PDF statements, which is where converting saves you retyping.
Closed accounts are not in e-banking
Bendigo keeps statements online for open accounts. For a closed account you need to ask your branch for copies, which usually arrive as PDF or paper. BankConv reads scanned statements too, through OCR.
Separate withdrawal and deposit columns
Statements usually show money out and money in as two unsigned columns, plus a running balance. Keep both columns, or build one signed Amount column (deposits minus withdrawals) if your software wants a single figure.
Day-first dates
Dates print day first. Set your spreadsheet or import to DD/MM/YYYY before opening the CSV, or 03/04 may turn into 4 March.

Converting Bendigo Bank e-statements

Bendigo e-statements downloaded from online banking are usually text-based PDFs, so each transaction becomes one row. They are the only way to get transactions older than the 18 months the e-banking download reaches, and they carry the opening and closing balances an accountant will ask for.

  1. Download the PDFs from the Statements tab of each account.
  2. Upload them to BankConv, up to 10 at a time.
  3. Check the rows, then export Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.

What to check after converting

  • Total the Withdrawals and Deposits columns, leaving out any opening or closing balance lines, and compare with the statement.
  • Confirm the last row’s balance equals the closing balance.
  • Check that dates came through day first, and that amounts are numbers rather than text.
