Convert Shine statements to Excel or CSV

Account holders, admins and accountants can pull Shine's export comptable as CSV, OFX or QIF, which is usually fastest. BankConv is for when only the PDF relevés remain, such as relevés a freelance client sent you, statements from a closed account, or a subaccount's past months, and it converts them to Excel, CSV or Google Sheets.

Do you need to convert at all?

Shine's export comptable (Rapports, then Export comptable on the web, or Plus, then Comptabilité in the app) produces CSV, OFX or QIF files with transaction details, receipts and VAT lines, and can be scheduled monthly by email. The CSV has two dates, the initiation date and the validation date; OFX and QIF keep only the validation date.

Only the Titulaire, Admin and Comptable roles can generate an export; Employé users cannot. Relevés themselves are monthly PDFs, posted at the start of the following month, with one relevé per account and subaccount.

What to know about Shine PDFs

Two dates in Shine, one on the relevé
Shine's interface and CSV export show the initiation date, while the relevé shows the validation date. A card payment made on the 30th can sit in the next month on the relevé. If you reconcile against the relevé, use the converted PDF's dates, not the app's.
Each subaccount has its own relevé
Shine gives every subaccount its own IBAN and its own monthly relevé. Convert each one separately or add an account column, and leave out transfers between your own Shine accounts so they aren't counted twice.
French number format
Amounts on a French relevé usually use comma decimals and space thousands (2 400,00). Open the CSV with a French locale, or check that amounts are numbers before you sum them.

When converting a Shine PDF helps

Shine is a business account for freelancers and small companies, and its export comptable covers most bookkeeping. Convert the PDF when the export isn’t an option:

  • Files sent to you: an accountant receives a client’s relevés as PDFs, with no Comptable access to the client’s Shine.
  • Employé access only: your role can’t generate an export, but someone has shared the relevés.
  • Closed account: Shine has emailed you the relevés of an account you no longer use.
  • Matching the relevé: you need rows that follow the relevé’s validation dates, with debit and credit split.

Upload up to 10 PDFs, check the rows, then export Excel or CSV.

What to check after converting

Look for the opening and closing balance on the relevé and use them to check the conversion yourself.

  • Check that opening balance + credits − debits = closing balance. With an opening balance of 6 200,00, the sample rows above give 8 378,01.
  • Confirm every amount is a number, not text.
  • If you convert a main account and its subaccounts, check each relevé on its own before you combine them.

If your software wants OFX and you only have the PDF, convert it to OFX directly. Other French banks are on the French banks page.

How we handle your data

Shine statement questions

Should I use Shine's export comptable or convert the PDF?

If you have a Shine login as the account holder, an admin or the accountant, use the export comptable for bookkeeping. Convert the PDF when the relevé is all you have, or when you need rows dated exactly as on the relevé.

Why don't the dates in my Shine export match the relevé?

Shine's CSV includes the initiation date (when the transaction was made) and the validation date, and the relevé uses the validation date. Pick the validation date if you reconcile against relevés.

Can I get relevés for a closed Shine account?

Shine says to email its support with the company's SIREN, the phone number linked to the old account and the list of relevés you need. Once you have the PDFs, BankConv converts them to Excel or CSV.
