Convert Nu México statements to Excel or CSV

Nu México has no printed statements and its guides don't describe a spreadsheet export, so the PDF estado de cuenta in the app is what you work from. Open Estados de cuenta under Tarjeta de crédito or Cuenta Nu and enter your NIP to download it. BankConv then converts it to Excel, CSV or Google Sheets, one row per movement.

Do you need to convert at all?

Nu México gives the estado de cuenta in its app, where you can download or share it after entering your NIP. For the Tarjeta de Crédito Nu, Nu also emails a PDF on the fecha de corte. Nu doesn't issue printed statements.

Nu's official guides don't describe a CSV or Excel export of movements. Credit card statements are available in the app from the month you activated the card, at most 48 hours after the fecha de corte.

What to know about Nu México PDFs

Card statement periods follow the fecha de corte
A Tarjeta de Crédito Nu statement runs from one fecha de corte to the next, not from the 1st to the end of the month. Purchases after the cut-off go into the next statement. If you need calendar months, combine two statements and filter by date.
Pagos and compras in one list
The card summary splits activity into Pagos a tu tarjeta, Compras, Abonos y devoluciones, Retiros en efectivo, Comisiones, intereses and I.V.A. In the movement list, look for how payments and refunds are marked so they don't get summed as spending.
Meses sin intereses
Purchases on meses sin intereses (MSI) are usually listed with their monthly instalment, and the remaining balance is shown separately. Count the instalment that falls in this period, not the full purchase price.
Card and account are separate
The credit card and Cuenta Nu each have their own estado de cuenta, in different sections of the app. A card payment from Cuenta Nu shows up in both, so convert them into separate files and leave that transfer out when you combine them.

Converting a Nu México estado de cuenta

Save the PDF from the app or use the one Nu emails you at the fecha de corte. Nu’s statements are digital PDFs, so the movement list converts row for row, with amounts in pesos (MXN). Summary pages, payment details and cost information are left out of the rows.

  1. Download the PDF estados de cuenta from the Nu app, one per period.
  2. Upload them to BankConv, up to 10 at a time.
  3. Check the rows, then export Excel or CSV.

What to check

The credit card statement’s summary lists the saldo al corte del periodo anterior, payments, purchases, refunds, fees, interest and I.V.A. Use it to check the conversion yourself.

  • Sum the purchases and compare them with Compras in the summary. In the sample rows above, purchases total $1,524.47.
  • Sum the payments and compare them with Pagos a tu tarjeta en el periodo.
  • On MSI lines, confirm only the monthly instalment came through, not the full price.
  • Add the year to each date if your software needs it, and check periods that cross into January.

To load the rows into CONTPAQi or Alegra, import the CSV through their bank movements import. Files are deleted after 24 hours; see security. Other Mexican banks are on the Mexican banks page.

Nu México statement questions

Can I download my Nu México statement in Excel?

Nu gives the estado de cuenta as a PDF in the app, and emails the credit card PDF at each fecha de corte. Convert the PDF in BankConv to get Excel or CSV with one row per movement.

How far back can I get Nu credit card statements?

Nu says the app keeps your card statements from the month you activated the card, so you can go back month by month.

Does this work for Cuenta Nu as well as the credit card?

Yes. Cuenta Nu has its own Estados de cuenta option in the app. Convert its PDF separately from the card statement, since each has its own movements and balances.
